NEWS for Winter 2024
> After several months of hibernation, the singing chairs of the participatory sound installation Bercer le temps / Lulling Time make a stop by the P'tit Beaubien to share the voices of the neihgborhood. Set up in a café, a boutique, a restaurant or even your barber's shop, they will warmly welcome passersby from March 5 to 9, between 12 and 6 pm, with a series of clues to be gathered in the arms of the chairs for the Lulling Tour of the P'tit Beaubien. Meanwhile, our rocking chairs in residency continue to sing at the Saint-Amable library and the Sainte-Martine library. A perfect way to keep warm and enchant the South Shore until April 2025!
> Mamie Remix keeps rolling as the team from École internationale de Montréal (in partnership with the CJE Montréal Centre-Ville) paired with the CHSLD Paul-Émile-Léger dives into the realisation of a videoclip, accompanied by mediator Cara Roy, artist mentor Meryem Saci and filmmaker Junna Chif. Meanwhile, students from La Voie, Sophie-Barat and Honoré Mercier high schools embark in a new edition, accompagnied by mediators Maud Escaffre and Claire Pearl, as well as artists mentors Franky Fade, Mantisse and Meryem Saci. Stay tuned!
> After Contes à dormir debout, we continue our collaboration with the Festilou Festival for Petites sagesses [Little Wisdoms], a series of 20 podcasts for kids from 4 to 8 years old. Co-hosted by Sylvette the owl and guest children, each episode features a storyteller from Quebec or French-speaking Ontario. To be discovered on OHdio Radio-Canada as of today!
> Bercer le temps / Lulling Time has come a long way in 2024! After crossing the Atlantic to take part in the International Spoken Word festival Ahoz Aho in the Basque Country (with the support of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications), our rocking chairs hit the road again for a second grand summer tour in New Brunswick and Gaspésie (with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts), with stops in Lévis, Blainville, Richmond, Verchères, Chambly, and in Montreal parks. 2025 now promises new spring outings, starting with a comeback to the Basque Country and the traditionnal lulling afternoons of May during Festilou Festival! At the very beginning of the confinement, Berceurs du temps launched a series of weekly HEBDODOs to appease the minds and put worries to sleep. Each week, from March 25 to May 6, we shared 7 lullabies from our archives at https://berceursdutemps.ca/hebdodos and through SoundCloud's mobile app.
LULLING TIME now features a collection of more than 2500 lullabies in over 100 languages, and it keeps growing. Thank you to the golden voices of those who have sang their love in front of our mics since 2016. Until we meet again in the parks over the summer, feel free to share these bedtime delights around you!
